An Open Notice to Our Patients

Jan 22, 2013
During an electronic medical record audit, it was found that a former Baptist Health System employee had viewed certain electronic medical records without the patient’s consent or business need. The Baptist Health System has notified through certified mail all patients identified in the investigation. In an abundance of caution the Baptist Health System is posting this notice to alert those who may not have received such notice. The Baptist Health System continues to work to identify any irregularities in viewing Baptist Health System patient information.

The only patient information potentially viewed by this former employee was related to patient visits between August 14, 2011 and November 27, 2012. If you were not provided care at the Baptist Health System during that period, there is no reason to believe that your electronic medical record was viewed.

Baptist Health System Hospitals included:

North Central Baptist Hospital
Northeast Baptist Hospital
Mission Trail Baptist Hospital
