Intern's Have The Opportunity to Help at a Facility Health Fair

Interns in their clinical rotation have the experience of participating in a facility health fair with Registered Dietitians. The interns and Registered Dietitians provide nutrition education on topics such as healthy eating & optimal food choices.

The Baptist Health System is a "Health for Life" place!

Interns Assisting at Health Fairs

Interns of the Baptist Health System Dietetic Internship completing their clinical nutrition rotations at Baptist Medical Center have the opportunity to assist the dietitians at bi-monthly employee Health Fairs. This gives the interns experience in speaking to the public on designated nutrition topics.

Gina's Journal Club

Each intern is required to complete a Journal Club during their internship experience. Gina recently completed her Journal Club last week. Her article was "Consumption of high-fructose corn syrup in beverages may play a role in the epidemic of obesity" in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Gina did an excellent job in visualizing to the group the amount of sugar content from high fructose corn syrup in common beverages. Gina was knowledgeable in her topic and lead the group through some nice discussion. Good job Gina!!
