For your Child, Kid-focused Care at North Central Baptist Hospital
What is a Pediatric Intensivist?
Pediatric Intensivists are board-certified physicians who are specially trained to care for critically ill children. They provide care to children hospitalized in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and are supported by a team of certified pediatric intensive care nurses, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, and other allied health care personnel. They interact with all clinical departments, as well as surgical and medical sub specialists, to provide clinical care for critically ill children. Teams are fully trained and knowledgeable in the most advanced life support and resuscitation techniques available. Available 24/7 at The Baptist Regional Children’s Center at North Central Baptist Hospital, Intensivists maintain detailed communication with referring private physicians and sub-specialists to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
