Bridges Beyond Grief - A Grief Support Group

A bridge over troubled water is what North Central Baptist Hospital wants to be for families experiencing the loss of a loved one. To do so we have established a Grief Support Group for those who grieve.

This group is for all ages of people to gather with one common bond: to journey the path of grief and loss. You will not have to do this alone.

There is no membership, no cost to you, no long term commitment and no religious affiliation. However to help us prepare we do ask that you please let us know you will be attending a session.

Purpose
This group meets to support you and address the issues facing you beyond loss. The group will help you...

  • Understand the emotional and physical dynamics of grief.
  • Move beyond the sense of isolation and restore relations with your family and friends.
  • Share personal experiences in a safe place.
  • Cultivate a healthy grief.

What will we talk about?
Led by the facilitator, each group meeting will address a different topic related to loss. You will learn how grief affects you physically, emotionally and socially. You will learn how to balance the need for solitude with your relationships. You will explore ways to live with the loss of that special person in your life.

"I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me". — Psalm 22
