Baptist Success Stories
Bobby Castillo
My name is Bobby Castillo.
This past May I had a hip replacement. It’s something that I had put off for a long time because I was afraid of hospitals and surgery. I’m only 46 years old, but I drive a delivery truck and do a lot of heavy lifting. All that work eventually wore down the cartilage in my hip until I could barely walk. The pain got so bad that it was hard to do my job, and I couldn’t even walk my little girls around the zoo or play with them at the beach.

My name is Janet Page, and I suffered for many years with joint pain that was never properly diagnosed. At only 58 years old, it got to the point where I could barely walk, and the pain kept me from doing many of the things I loved to do, like playing with my grandchildren and going to church. One day when I was holding my granddaughter, I fell to the ground in pain. That was the last straw. I went to a different doctor and he recommended a hip replacement at Baptist Health System. I had the surgery, and I am so glad that I did. My recovery was very quick. I met many other joint replacement patients in the hospital’s Joint Club program, which helped me tremendously. The hospital staff was friendly and helpful. It was a positive experience all the way around. Today I am pain free and I can play with my grandkids again. I am back at church and even going on a mission trip to Haiti next summer, something I never could have done before my hip replacement. If you’ve been waiting out of fear, or living with joint pain and can’t find an answer – go to Baptist. You’ll be glad you did.
