Private Birthing Rooms
We want to make sure you feel the most at ease as possible in your birthing environment. That is why we provide all of our patients with private labor/delivery/recovery rooms complete with relaxing surroundings.
Patients with high risk issues, are given their own designated area where staff can readily monitor and give them compassionate care through recovery.
Our labor and delivery rooms offer the following amenities and more:

- Recliner chair or couch for you or a visitor

At Baptist, we honor “family comes first”. Discuss with your physician or nurse how you would like to include your family members in your birth experience. Baptist labor & delivery units provide a variety of perks, such as a complimentary meal or bed for your support person. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
New babies sometimes need specialized care in order to begin a healthy life. Having a baby in the NICU can be a very stressful and emotional time for both you and your family. If your baby needs special care or treatment, our Level III NICUs and level IIIB NICUs provide highly skilled nursing staff, neonatologists and the most technologically advanced equipment to care for your newborn. The NICU multidisciplinary team embraces a family-centered approach to patient care. During your baby’s stay, we will communicate and work closely with you in planning developmentally appropriate care based upon the needs of your baby and family.
Mother's Milk First Lactation Center
As experts have voiced and research has proven, breastmilk is a baby’s best source of nutrition. At Baptist Health System we support your choice to provide the best for your baby. All Baptist facilities have certified lactation consultants on staff to offer breastfeeding support.
The Mother’s Milk First Lactation Center at North Central Baptist Hospital in Stone Oak offers a warm, comfortable and supportive environment where families can discuss their breastfeeding goals and concerns with trained lactation consultants.
The lactation center also offers breastfeeding support and baby care products for purchase. Your one-stop location for:
