Advance Directives
Individuals usually make decisions regarding their healthcare treatment after their physician recommends a course of treatment and provides information about the treatment. Through documents, known as Advance Directives, individuals can express their treatment preferences before they actually need such care ensuring that their wishes will be carried out and that their families will not be faced with making these difficult decisions.

ATM
An ATM machine is available in the hospital for your use. The ATM machine is located on the first floor of each hospital. The Baptist Health System does not own the ATM machine and any problems with the ATM machine must be directed to the credit union sponsoring the machine. This information may be obtained on the front of each machine.

Cafeteria and Dietary Services
All patients on regular or modified and/or therapeutic diets, as prescribed by a physician, will be assisted daily by a food and nutrition service representative in selecting enjoyable, nutritious meals. There is a full-service cafeteria and grill available for you and your visitors.

Case Management
The Case Management department has Registered Nurses and Social Workers to help assure that your plan of care runs smoothly and to assist you and your family in planning and arranging necessary care after you leave the hospital. They can also address community resources, coping with your illness, obtaining protective services, and providing information regarding insurance coverage.

The department hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Case Managers are on call to respond to your needs after hours and on weekends. To contact Case Management, please ask your nurse to assist you.

Chaplain
Professionally trained chaplains are part of the healthcare team who care for you and your family while you are hospitalized. They are available to assist you in meeting your spiritual needs. A chaplain is available to you regardless of your religious affiliation. Chaplains can also assist you in contacting someone from your local religious community.

Chaplains are available to respond after hours and on weekends when crisis situations reflect the need for a chaplain. During evening, late night and weekend hours, the chaplain-on-call will respond to calls from hospital staff after evaluating the need with the staff.

In addition to our ministry of compassion and encouragement, we also provide a ministry of worship and sacraments. The chapel is located on the first floor. It is available to you at all times for personal prayer and meditation. You may visit the chapel in hospital attire, and your visitors are also welcome. Eucharistic Ministers are available to provide communion to Catholic patients.

Bibles and inspirational literature are available at your request. Please ask your nurse to assist you if you wish to have a chaplain visit. For more information regarding our Faith-Based Health System please click here .

Clinical Trials for Cancer Patients
If you have been diagnosed with cancer, we would like for you to know about the availability of clinical trials. A clinical trial is a research study that attempts to find alternate ways to prevent, screen for, treat or diagnose disease. Clinical trials may or may not be paid for by your insurance and are not available for all types of cancer. These trials are done in phases and require your fully informed consent and understanding of the risks for participation. If you are interested, ask your physician about clinical trials.
