Dr. Amber Nicole MacWilliam is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist who takes an osteopathic approach to medicine. Based on this philosophy, she partners with patients to heal the body, mind and spirit in the pursuit of wellness. Dr. MacWilliam emphasizes the importance of prevention and promoting the body’s natural tendency toward self-healing. Before joining Comal Women’s Medical Associates, Dr. MacWilliam completed medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama. She has participated in many international outreach programs including Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and Honduras. As she was raised in the hill country of Texas, she remains dedicated to rural medicine and community engagement. She recently completed her medical residency at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. MacWilliam coordinates both high-risk and routine obstetric care. She also has special interests in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, complex family planning, perinatal mental health, and the treatment of chronic pelvic pain. Outside of work, Dr. MacWilliam enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, traveling, staying active, and reading.

Amber was a breath of fresh air! I went in expecting to get my RX filled. She spent a lot of time explaining why screenings are so important. I'm getting a colonoscopy at 60 because of her been putting it off for years. And she has me researching several supplements I will be adding to my regimen. I've referred her to several friends.

I'm almost 63 years old. I think my visit with the Dr was the longest and most thorough I've ever had with any doctor. Appreciate not being body shamed. I know I am overweight and need to lose some and the doctor was so nice in recommending weight loss. That doesn't seem like a big deal but it was to me.
