Heather McKenzie, MD

Heather McKenzie, MD, CWSP, is a board-certified wound care specialist dedicated to helping patients with complex acute and chronic wounds achieve optimal healing and improved quality of life. She offers a unique hybrid practice model that bridges inpatient consultations and outpatient clinical care. She specializes in evaluating and managing patients with complex acute and chronic wounds, coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless treatment throughout the healing journey. Passionate about treating the whole patient, not just the wound, Dr. McKenzie focuses on identifying underlying medical conditions that may impair healing and develops individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs. She has a special interest in complex and difficult-to-diagnose wound conditions and works closely with specialists in vascular surgery, infectious disease, nephrology, primary care, and other disciplines to optimize outcomes and improve quality of life. Outside of medicine, Dr. McKenzie enjoys family time, reading, cooking, working out, listening to podcasts and sharing a love of snow skiing with her husband and son.
