Megan King, ACNP

Megan King is a board-certified Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in patient care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice - Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Her diverse clinical experience includes providing critical care for hospital patients in various units including medical-surgical intensive care units. NP King believes that providing compassionate and empathetic care is essential to helping patients improve their overall health and well-being. She takes the time to educate each patient on how they can enhance their health in a way that aligns with their individual needs. She embraces the Gestalt theory, "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts," in her approach to patient care, understanding that a person's health is deeply intertwined with their experiences, beliefs, and background. By learning about where a patient comes from and how they perceive health, she can help them translate this understanding into meaningful self-care practices. Outside of her professional life, she is an animal lover and has rescued many dogs throughout the years. She enjoys hiking and taking long walks with her new husband and their 4 dogs. She is also a firm believer in the power of continual personal growth—it's never too late to learn, both personally and professionally.
