What to Bring/What Not to Bring

Packing for Your Stay

While you’re staying at a Baptist Health System hospital, rest assured that we’ll take care of most of your needs, including food, hospital gowns and toiletries. Our staff is here to answer any questions, keep you informed and help you get what you need.

Items to Bring

  • If you’re staying overnight pack your sleepwear, footwear and other personal items you may need, such as a case for glasses, contacts and/or dentures
  • Insurance card (Check with your health insurance company to understand the portion you’re responsible for, such as deductibles or co-pays.)
  • Photo ID
  • A copy of any advance directives, such as a living will or health care power of attorney
  • A complete list of all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements. If you’re coming to the hospital for surgery, you may take any required medications the day of surgery as advised by your physician. Always take your blood pressure medicine with a small sip of water, unless your physician instructs you otherwise.

We recommend leaving any valuables, such as jewelry and purses at home.
