Baptist Health System CFO Brian Elisco Named to Modern Healthcare's Top 25 Emerging Leaders List

Chicago, IL – Brian Elisco, FACHE, Group Chief Financial Officer San Antonio, Nacogdoches and Valley Baptist Health System is among Modern Healthcare’s 2019 class of Top 25 Emerging Leaders (formerly Up and Comers). Modern Healthcare, the leader in healthcare business news, research and data, annually honors emerging leaders all age 40 or under, who have made significant contributions in the areas of innovation and financial, operational and clinical excellence early in their careers.

Brian was selected for his leadership in driving accountability and results as well as his efforts to lower costs and provide greater access to care for low income patient populations. “Brian has been instrumental in working to bring community health providers together to come up with ways to provide better access to care for unfunded patients in underserved areas of San Antonio,” said Matt Stone, Baptist Health System CEO. “Brian’s goal is to improve community health while lowering the cost of care.”

During his tenure as CFO Brian has helped improve financial results through a comprehensive program of initiatives including a shift in revenue cycle strategy, cost containment initiatives, and driving a culture of performance while also focusing on experience and quality. Under Brian’s leadership, all hospital financial departments implemented succession planning for director roles. This included developing formal plans to invest in and develop individuals identified as having high potential and performance.

Brian has also provided support for the military through mentorship of two working with industry fellows. In addition, Brian continues to present to the Baylor MBA Healthcare Administration program annually on hospital financial leadership.
