Mission Trail Baptist Hospital making $1 million in upgrades

Jun 4, 2019

Mission Trail operating room renderSan Antonio - August, 2018 – Mission Trail Baptist Hospital is investing $1 million to add two new operating rooms to its facilities to meet the growing health care needs on the developing Southside of San Antonio. The community that Mission Trail serves is expected to grow by 8 percent in the next five years. Both physicians and patients are choosing Mission Trail for its surgical care offered based on quality, outcomes and overall patient experience. The hospital provides state-of-the-art instrumentation and equipment that support orthopedics, general surgery, spine, vascular, urology and other services. The two new ORs will serve patients who will undergo outpatient surgeries for hand, podiatry, and pain management.

“With the addition of the two new operating rooms we can offer more outpatient procedures while also opening up availability in our current operating rooms for more complex surgeries,” said Sandy Ethridge, Chief Operating Officer at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital. “We want our patients to be able to stay in the community where they live for their healthcare so expanding our operating room capacity will allow us to care for more people where they live, right here on the Southside.”

Construction is scheduled for completion in November 2018. The addition of the two new ORs brings the total to six ORs at Mission Trail.
