For patients who only need partial-knee replacements, MAKOplasty allows surgeons to preserve healthy tissue and ligaments, removing only the diseased portions of the joint and resulting in a more natural feeling knee. In many cases MAKOplasty patients experience less pain during the first week after surgery than do patients who underwent manual surgery after two months. MAKOPlasty is also available for people who need total knee replacement.
