I’m Neva Fernandez and this is my lovable and fluffy canine companion, Henry. Since 2023 we have been dedicated volunteers visiting all facilities with Baptist Health System. Our journey as a therapy dog team began in 2021 with Canines For Christ, a global organization.

Henry’s unique charm and ability to bring laughter has allowed us to make a significant and positive impact to both patients and staff. Hearing the squeals and laughter each time we walk down the halls of the hospital is the most rewarding feeling one can experience as a volunteer.

It’s been such a blessing to provide brief moments of respite from the daily challenges faced by patients and healthcare workers.

In the world of healthcare, where compassion is key, Henry and I are so grateful for the opportunity to show how the power of laughter and love can go a long way with just a smiling face and wagging tail!
