About Akwugo Eziefule
Dr. Akwugo “Ada” Eziefule affectionately known as “Dr. Ez” specializes in Maternal Fetal Medicine, providing care to mothers and children with high-risk conditions during pregnancy. She earned her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University Medical Center El Paso at the same Texas Tech institution in El Paso, Texas. She went on to complete a fellowship program in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston. She is a member of the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and a Fellow with the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecology. She is board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology and is eligible to be board certified in MFM. Dr. Eziefule was born and raised in Houston, Texas and came back as soon as she could. Many adventures have led her all around the country, but proudly calls Texas home and is glad to be back serving its great communities. She is a first-generation Nigerian-American and finds great interest in high-risk pregnancies because as the oldest of four, she watched her single mother struggle with high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Eziefule offers counseling in maternal/fetal complications of pregnancy such as chronic hypertension, diabetes, genetic screening and performs amniocentesis. Over the last year, Dr. Eziefule has been providing care to patients all over the city and is excited to be taking new patients at her own practice with the Baptist Medical Network. She looks forward to continuing the excellent care she has been providing to San Antonio and the surrounding communities.

I loved that at all times they explained everything to me, the doctor paid attention and looked for a solution to my concerns and above all I appreciate her effort to explain me so well in my language. It has been without a doubt the best ultrasound I have had in pregnancy, the professional who attended me very kindly, explained every detail in a way that made me connect more with my baby and my understanding more of the process, in addition to the fact that it feels very nice to have visibility of the ultrasound at all times and with comfort on the monitor provided.
