Dr. Andrea Garcia, MD, FACS, MPH is a dedicated general surgery provider serving San Antonio. After she completed medical school and residency in San Antonio, she wanted to continue to serve the same community that helped her grow. Dr. Garcia approaches her patients as if they were her own family members. She likes to spend time explaining to her patients their diagnoses and answer any questions. She truly believes in patient autonomy and enjoys making decisions together with them. Having been a surgical patient herself, she is empathetic and knows how to truly serve her patients by easing their pain, listening, and educating them about their surgical diagnoses. Dr Garcia is a great surgeon. She explained the surgery to me in terms I could understand. She is very thoughtful when it comes to patient safety. I needed a procedure before surgery. So she canceled my surgery due to she didn't want me to have anesthesia two times in a day because of my age. I feel very blessed to have such a caring surgeon. Would highly recommend her to anyone needing surgery.

Dr. Garcia answered some questions I had regarding some cramping I was having. She explained the possible reasons (drain) and said cramps would go away once drained was removed. The cramps went away and I feel so much better. Her medical student was also helpful and professional. Dr. Garcia did a great job mentoring the medical student.
