Board certified in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology, Dr. Joshua Durham has a special interest in Cardio-Oncology – dealing with cancer patients and the impact of chemotherapy on their heart. Through the personal experience of his mother having cardiac problems following treatment for breast cancer, Dr. Durham pursued additional knowledge and training in the field of Cardio-Oncology. Dr. Durham works as part of a multidisciplinary team of physicians trained in treating cancer and blood disorders. The cardio-oncology team’s goal is to ensure people can receive the most appropriate cancer therapy, while minimizing their risk of heart complications and treating any heart conditions. Dr. Durham was pretty laid back 4 a dr. He wasn't averse 2 bantering w/ me a bit, which is nice when u r trying 2 get 2 know a new dr. A little. He played along w/ my lesson in name nationality, which made it seem 2 me that he's somewhat flexible. This is important in a dr. It helps if they're open 2 get 2 know u a little, too. I also noticed that he didn't seem like an egomaniac--very refreshing when it comes to drs., of which I have seen more than my fair share !! I'd rather wait a bit longer 2 b seen & feel like the dr. Is taking his/ her time w/ me. I wld think this wld affect most people's ability to trust him w/ their care. He didn't seem in a rush, was patient. I liked him.

Dr Durham helped me feel at ease about taking my medications again, and about which ones were safe to take that wouldn't lower my blood pressure into an unsafe range. I am now able to sleep again at night without anxiety. He also is taking other measures to make sure everything Is okay such as taking labs and sending me home with a heart monitor for a few days. He was very thorough and I feel so much better after talking with him at my appt.

Dr. Dunham demonstrates a high degree of compassion, empathy, and medical knowledge. Wonderful physician. There were concerns mentioned with a colleague Seanapati, who was the complete opposite. Ver disheartening to see a physician of BHS pracrice in such a way. Not the culture of BHS. There was little to no waiting at the registration desk and when called to the exam room. Registration was immediate. I had been seated only a moment when the nurse called my name to go to the exam room. Nurse assisted me by holding door open, walked with me to the exam room while we chatted, and she held the door open and followed me in and we began immediately. Her duties were thorough and relevant to my visit. Nurse was efficient and attentive to my concerns.

Staff bent over backwards to accommodate my request for an echocardiogram on short notice. I have not yet been able to view Dr's notes from the day of my office visit, but I was cleared for surgery and the surgeon was notified promptly. the doctor and staff were all professional and courteous - especially the woman who interfaces with insurance for preauthorization. Thank you.

This is maybe the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen Dr. Durham. I'm sure he's very smart as he uses very complex medical terms. I'm an educated person, but I'm an accountant not a doctor. So you need to "relate" to your patient. Just because you use the technical words doesn't mean it all makes sense to the patient.At least twice now, I've voiced my concern for statin drugs, but he doesn't seem sympathetic to my concern, just that these drugs are better than the risks non-MDs may indicate.

Dr Durham is a very caring doctor. As his patient you have his undivided attention. This is the second time that I've seen him. him and his staff at the Stone Oak office went over and above what was required they were reaching out to locate a neurosurgeon that I needed for a crainotomy. I was just in his office the first time for an echocardiogram. while I was in the hospital for surgery I had some heart issues I didn't hesitate to call him back to see him. I will be sure to mention his name to my friends and family.
