About Dennis Rousseau
Dr. Dennis L. Rousseau Jr., MD/PhD, FACS is a fellowship trained Surgical Oncologist who completed his general surgery training at the University of Michigan. Dr. Rousseau also completed a surgical oncology fellowship at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, where he graduated the program in 2003 as the outstanding clinical fellow. He specializes in the surgical treatment of complex gastrointestinal malignancies including disease in the pancreas, liver, biliary tract, stomach, small bowel, colon, and rectum. He also has expertise in the treatment of breast disease, skin and soft tissue malignancy, and endocrine tumors. He is the Associate Medical Director of Cancer Services in the Baptist Health System in San Antonio, where he also serves as the Medical Director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center and Associate Medical Director of the Breast Center.

I have no complaints about any aspect of Dr. Rousseau or his staff. I've been treated with kindness and respect every time. Dr. Rousseau is very thorough with explanations and always puts me at ease with his kindness & humor.

He had reviewed record for recent testing before coming in and clearly explained the possible risk and treatments. discussion of pros and cons based on my specific situation. nonjudgmental and supportive about my decisions. very knowledgeable. wish more doctors were like him!

I have had very good doctors through this treatment, and Dr Rousseau is one of my favorites. He has been straightforward, but encouraging. He explains things clearly. When I was told something upsetting by my primary, I didn't want to bother Dr Rousseau, so I called my nurse practitioner, and Dr. Rousseau called me right back. I would highly recommend him to everybody.

Dr. R's team has always been very easy to work with on scheduling. This made it especially easy when I recently had to cancel an appointment because I was ill and was worried about passing that bug around. Dr. R's team was very pleasant about it.

Dr. Rousseau maintained great eye contact, spoke non-technical English, asked if I had any questions & answered them clearly. He did a great job explaining factors that might slightly change the procedures, talked about risks. Dr. Rousseau displayed his concern about my situation. I have a great deal of confidence in Dr. Rousseau and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. He also comes highly recommended by my referring dermatologist, Dr. Alfred Hockley, in whom I also have a great deal of confidence.
