About Marissa Ylagan
Dr. Marissa Valencia Ylagan provides her expertise in perinatal medicine to women in San Antonio and the surrounding communities. She obtained her M.D. from Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland. Following her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Ylagan completed her Fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California San Diego. Additionally, Dr. Ylagan served on active duty in the United States Air Force for 10 years. During this time, she was the Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia, as well as the Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine at San Antonio Military Medical Center. After completing her active duty service, she was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Ylagan has co-authored several publications and has been recognized for excellence in teaching, receiving the ACOG Mentor of the Year award and accolades for medical student education.

Front desk lady was very sweet and answered my questions with ease and the nurse, sonography lady, and doctor were also very kind and answered questions I had. Best first time experience ever at a doctors office.

The whole team is amazing. This is my second experience with an MFM practice, and it is night and day. Dr. Ylagan listens and explains thoroughly. The nurse and front staff are caring, understanding, and helpful. After a rough first pregnancy, I feel confident, safe, and secure in my second pregnancy being under their care.

On my first visit, I haven't met with a nurse. I was there to see/talk with a genetic counselor and she was very good and she listened to me well.

First time mom experience was phenomenal! Definitely would recommend this facility to friends and family for their OB needs! Honestly had a great first time experience from all around from the Doctor, medical assistants, sono techs, and receptionist that helped me at every visit. will definitely return in the future if needed again!

Dr. Ylagan and her staff were absolutely wondeful! The nurses down to the front desk staff were always very friendly and welcoming. I owe Dr. Ylagan everything for keeping me and my baby healthy during my pregnancy. I appreciate all of them so much and will always remember them. This is going to be my only pregnancy so I probably won't see them again but I will always hold them close to my heart.

Registration staff was very good. I even mentioned having a food allergy. The front office staff ensured that those who ate this allergy (shellfish) from the cafeteria that day would wash their hands and observe my safety.
